With a facility that large you should be looking into an instrument tracking system.

I have a question about how trays are put together in Sterile Processing. First, what do you use as a layer in the tray? Currently we use the blue towels but our manager has taken them out. Now kelly’s etc are getting stuck in the bottom. The biggest concern/question I have is we have been losing a lot of instrument lately. I suggested that they have one person putting the tray together sign the sheet and a designated lead person signoff before tray is wrapped. Kind of like an assembly line but the manager doesn’t want to do that. How do the larger facilities do it? We are a 581 bed with 14 OR suites. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
